19th January and 23rd February 2022

Two informative and thought-provoking webinars are being planned by the Methodist Survivors’ Advisory Group members for an audience across the Methodist Church. They are aimed at anyone in Churches with either a hands-on role in safeguarding, those working with children and adults or anyone with an interest in safeguarding.

Safeguarding from the perspective of survivors – whether we know we have people who have suffered abuse in our Churches or not – is a key to making Churches a safe space for all. Statistics show it is likely that nearly every Church has survivors of abuse, often not disclosed. It is a key point of all safeguarding training and often a difficult one to discuss so the webinars are a welcome resource for Churches to use. Organisers have worked hard to ensure they have excellent keynote speakers from outside agencies, police, survivors and CASAI (Church Action on Sexual Abuse Issues), our District’s project which has been running for several years to support women survivors of abuse.

If interested, please view the events on our Events Calendar where you will find the links to register for a place. The webinars are via Zoom and links will be sent nearer the time to join the live webinars. If planning to attend both then both registration links need to be used.
